It’s Not Chance—It’s Choice
This week, I want to challenge you to think differently about the opportunities in front of you—because chances are, they’re already there. The real question is: are you seeing them?
I had a conversation this weekend with my friend Justin Gaethje—a world-class UFC fighter and future Hall of Famer—about his journey to success. He shared that 90% of his career has been about discipline and hard work, but he attributed 10% to “chance.”
But I see it differently. I was there when he got his first big opportunity. He was one of several guys in the room when an elite training offer was made. Most hesitated. Justin said yes—and never looked back.
That moment wasn’t about luck. It was about decisiveness. It was about recognizing opportunity and diving in with commitment. Since then, he’s protected his mindset, mastered his craft, and stayed focused on becoming the best—and that’s something all of us can learn from.
Because in life and in business, opportunities don’t always knock—they whisper. They show up in small conversations, new connections, tough feedback, or quiet ideas that spark something in you. And it’s your choice to either act on them—or let them pass you by.
So here’s your challenge this week:
Start noticing the opportunities around you—and say YES.
Be decisive. Be bold. Trust your work ethic and believe in your ability to figure it out.
Success rarely comes down to chance. It comes down to what we choose to do with the doors that open in front of us.
